01 Aug 2010 – Actsys MD, Norman Lee Bok Mun has been certified as a Singapore Certified Energy Manager [Professional level] by The Institution of Engineers, Singapore. This certification is for a competent energy professional equipped to perform technical and managerial functions as a qualified person in the areas of Energy audits, Energy retrofitting services, Financial advisor for energy efficiency measures and contracting, Consultation and Procurement services, Facility and energy management and Energy engineering works.

 

19 Jul 2010 – Senoko Energy Pte Ltd awarded a project to Actsys to carry out an energy audit of CCP5 before and after the major inspection in July - September 2010.

 

14 Jun 2010 – Vopak Terminals Singapore Pte Ltd awarded a project to Actsys to carry out an energy and utilities assessment to Vopak storage terminals at Sebarok and Sakra.

 

06 Apr 2010 – Kuraray Asia Pacific Pte Ltd awarded a project to Actsys to carry out a Steam and Power Energy Audit.

 

01 Apr 2010 – Actsys awarded project for Modification Utilities Optimizer for PSR2 Revamp in the Petronas Melaka Refinery.

 

17 Feb 2010 – Sembcorp Cogen Pte Ltd awarded a project to Actsys to carry out an Energy Audit of the Cogen Plant in Jurong Island. This project is co-funded by the Energy Efficiency Improvement Assistance Scheme (EASe) from the National Environmental Agency.

 

4-5 Feb 2010 – Actsys conducted a 2 day training course to staffs at Energy Market Company Pte Ltd on Introduction to Power Plant Operations.

 
 

January 2010 – Tuas Power for the 7th year running renewed the annual performance monitoring contract for the CCP 1/2/3/4 blocks.

 

December 2009 – Karen Ng and Chow Guo Cong joined our team of process engineers.  Karen graduated from National University Of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) while Guo Cong graduated from The University of Nottingham, UK with a Master in Engineering (Chemical Engineering).

 

24 - 25 Sept 2009 – DNV China and Actsys in corporation with SASAC (State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission) jointly organized an Energy Efficiency Seminar in Beijing for the Power and Refining industries. The first day was attended by Power Generation companies which included Huaneng Power International Inc., China Huadian Corporation, Datang Heilongjiang Power Generation Co. Ltd., Datang Shuangyashan Co-generation Power Co. Ltd., Datang Qitaihe Power Generation Co. Ltd., and Tianjin SDIC Jinneng Electric Power Co.. Ltd. The second day cover Energy Management for refineries, participating companies included Sinopec Management Institute, Sinochem Group, Sinochem Petroleum, China Offshore Oil & Gas Development & Ulitization Company, CNPC Lanzhou Chemical Company and Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd.

 

27 Aug 2009 – Representatives from the Trade Commission of Denmark visited Actsys for discussions on our activities as an ESCO Energy Service Company in Singapore. Our services to the power and petrochemical sectors were presented and experiences exchanged on ESCO activities in Denmark.

 
 

14 July 2009 – Actsys conducted a 3 day training course to engineers and operators on Power Plant Performance Monitoring at Jimah Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

 

06 July 2009 – Actsys awarded Energy Management Project at ABF Asean Bintulu Fertilizer plant in Sarawak East Malaysia. This project is the implementation of an online Energy Management System which continuously monitors the overall plant energy performance and relating any poor performance to deviations from target of operating parameters.

 

08 May 2009 – Actsys’ application for Energy Services Company Accreditation Scheme (Auditing Services) with the Energy Sustainability Unit ESU of the National University of Singapore was approved. The level of accreditation awarded was “Full”, valid for 3 years and is applicable for Power Plants, Refinery and Petrochemical Industries. With this accreditation Actsys is therefore an approved ESCO to provide energy auditing services under the Singapore National Environmental Agency’s EASe (Energy Efficiency Improvement Assistance Scheme) co-funding program designed to encourage industries in Singapore to engage expert services to help with identifying energy efficiency improvement measures.

 

11 Mar 2009 – Actsys awarded project to implement online Utilities Optimization and Cogen Performance Monitoring package in the Petronas Melaka refinery.

 

24 Feb 2009 – Actsys awarded project to provide Performance Monitoring Tools and Training to Power Seraya Ltd for Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Steam units.

 

17 Feb 2009 – Actsys signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Det Norske Veritas Management Consulting (Shanghai) Ltd establishing a strategic partnership to provide energy efficiency performance monitoring and improvement services for thermal power plant, refineries and petrochemical plants.

 

31 Jan 2009 – Tuas Power has for the 6th year running renewed the annual performance monitoring contract for the CCP 1/2/3/4 blocks.

 

16 Jan 2009 – Senoko Power awarded a project to Actsys to carry out a Performance Monitoring Study for the 3 x Alstom Combined Cycle Plants.

 

05 Jan 2009 – Actsys awarded contract to implement an Energy Management System in the Propane Dehydrogenation Unit in the Petronas owned MTBE Malaysia Sendirian Bhd Plant in Gebeng Kuantan. This project will comprise of online reporting of unit energy index linked to operating energy parameters and an Utilities Optimization system.

 

06 Nov 2008 – Actsys MD Mr Norman Lee presented the subject “Opportunities in the Process Industry for ESCOs” at the Singapore Energy Efficiency Investment Forum organized by the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore SEAS.

 
   

17 Oct 2008 – Staff from SembCorp Utilities have just completed two separate training courses by Actsys on the use of Thermodynamic Simulation software Gatecycle and basic CCP operating principles.

 
   

31 Aug 2008 – Actsys has completed the “Preliminary energy audit” at NatSteel, Singapore a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, NatSteel Asia. The outcome of the Preliminary energy audit has been captured in Preliminary Energy Audit Report and submitted to NatSteel, Singapore.  The audit outlines the potential area of energy saving. The identified potential area is required to be studied in detail to arrive at various cost – benefit energy saving solutions. Preliminary Energy Audit is the first step for availing grant under NEA’s (National Environment Agency) EASe Scheme (Energy Efficiency Improvement Assistance Scheme) for conducting detailed energy study.

   

15 Aug 2008 – ACTSYS MD Mr. Norman Lee gave a presentation at the GPMS BICC FLEET Management Workshop 15-16th July 2008, KL, organized by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). The presentation was on Power Plant Performance Monitoring to Maximize Operating Efficiency. The objective of the workshop is to share knowledge on best practices in managing a fleet of assets at an enterprise level.

 
   

08 Aug 2008 – Actsys completed a 1 week Situational Analysis review of Asean Bintulu Fertilizer Plant in Sarawak Malaysia, to prepare for implementation of an online Energy Management System which will link high level management energy performance KPIs to energy operating parameters for operational guidance.

 
   

07 July 2008 – Actsys successfully obtained accreditation from the Professional Engineering Board of Singapore for the following training courses which it offers to Power Operators and engineers who will accumulate the respective number of PDUs (Professional Development Units). The training courses are Power Plant (Combined Cycle Plant) Operating Principles (35 PDUs), Thermodynamics Performance Monitoring of Thermal Plant (21 PDUs), Power Plant (Thermal) Operating Principles (35 PDUs) and Thermodynamics Performance Monitoring of Combined Cycle Plant (21 PDUs)

 
   

23 Jun 2008 – Actsys MD Norman Lee presented a paper on “Condition Monitoring for Predictive Maintenance to Maximize Plant Efficiency” at a Petronas wide Energy and Loss Management Conference held in ABF Bintulu Sarawak.

 
   

26 May 2008 – Shan Shan joined our team of process engineers. She graduated with a BSc Chemical Engineering degree (Distinction) from the University of Alberta, Canada and prior to joining us was working in the Oil Sands Process Engineering Department of Suncor Energy Inc, Canada.

 
   

01 April 2008 – Actsys officially signed a Technical Service Agreement to provide thermodynamic performance monitoring services to Teknik Janakuasa Sdn Bhd, the O&M service provider to Power and Utilities Plants in Malaysia, South East Asia and Middle East.

 
 
   
29 Feb 2008 – ACTSYS MD Mr. Norman Lee gave a presentation at the NEA National Environmental Agency and Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore SEAS organized Seminar on Energy Efficiency for Process Industry. The presentation was Condition Monitoring for Predictive Maintenance to Maximize Plant Energy Efficiency (http://www.seas.org.sg/images/event_document/energy efficiency for process industry 29feb.pdf). Mr Norman Lee was also the Chairman of both the morning and afternoon panel sessions.

28 Nov 2007 – Singapore NCCC (National Committee for Climate Change) in recognition of the work done by us for Tuas Power, a case study feature based on one of the findings in our regular performance monitoring services for Tuas Power’s 4xCCPs, has been included in the NCCC website http://www.nccc.gov.sg/industry/industry.shtm
 
   
19 Nov 2007 – ACTSYS has signed contract with Power Seraya, Singapore for providing “Performance Monitoring” Services for the remaining 4 Fuel Oil Fired Steam Plants (4 x 250 MW) in their Stage 1 and Stage 2 blocks. Under this contract, ACTSYS would monitor the performance of the 4 units for a period of 6 months and produce monthly and quarterly report on the performance of the plant.
 
   
04 Nov 2007 – ACTSYS was featured for its work with Tuas Power in the "E2 Singapore” publication by the National Environmental Agency NEA to launch the set-up of a multi-Govt agency committee E2PO (Energy Efficiency Program Office) as part of the national drive to improving energy efficiency.
 
   
27 August 2007 – ACTSYS completed a 4 days training course for shift engineers and operation staff at Lumut, Malaysia (1303MW Combined Cycle Plant) on “Power Plant Operation Principles - Basic”. The objective of the course is to provide a refresher on the basics of various thermodynamic concepts related to combined cycle power plant. Impact of key operational parameters on operational and maintenance action of individual components and practical cases were discussed. This training helps engineers to comprehend how various plant performance parameters are influencing each other.
 
   

07 August 2007 – Letter of Intent received from Teknik Janakuasa Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malakoff Corporation Berhad, to appoint Actsys Process Management Consultants Pte Ltd to provide services and advice to TJSB in connection with Thermodynamic Performance Monitoring. With this LOI work has commenced on Prai Power to set up the performance monitoring program there.

 
   
10 July 2007 – National Library Board (NLB), Singapore deemed ACTSYS website to be an important part of Singapore’s documentary heritage. NLB would archive ACTSYS webpage contents from time to time as part of comprehensive collection of websites and publications of Singapore and make it available for Singaporeans for now and in future.
 
   
03 July 2007 – ACTSYS has signed contract with Power Seraya, Singapore for providing “Performance Monitoring” Services for two Fuel Oil Fired Steam Plants (2 x 250 MW). Under this contract, ACTSYS would monitor the performance of the two units for a period of one year and produce monthly and quarterly report on the performance of the plant. Also, ACTSYS would provide performance monitoring appreciation training to Power Seraya Engineers.
 
   
29 June 2007 – ACTSYS has recently conducted training for engineers at Tanjung Bin, Malaysia (Coal fired plant 3 x 700 MW) on “Power Plant Operating Principles”. The objective of the course is to enhance the clarity on basic thermodynamics involved in coal fired thermal power plant operation to understand how various key parameters (pressure, temperature, flow, etc) influence the plant operation and efficiency. The training was provided to performance, maintenance and operation engineers of the plant.
 
   
02 March 2007 – ACTSYS has renewed its accreditation with National Environmental Agency (NEA) as a qualified energy service company for conducting energy audits at power plant, refineries and process industries.
 
   

21 Febuary 2007 – For the 4th year running, Tuas Power renewed their contract with ACTSYS for annual performance monitoring of CCP 1/2/3/4.

 
   

02 February 2007 – ACTSYS completed an Energy Management System review for MTBE Malaysia, Gebeng Kuantan, which also includes the Propane Dehydrogenation Plant and the Polypropylene Plant. This review serves to identify areas of opportunity in management’s objective to bring energy management to the work floor.

 
   
23 January 2007 – ACTSYS Signed contract with Power Seraya, Singapore for providing “Performance Monitoring” service for two Combined Cycle Power (CCP) units (2 x 370 MW).
 
   
08 January 2007 – ACTSYS Signed contracts with Power Senoko, Singapore for conducting Energy Efficiency Appraisal of the Combined Cycle Plant repowered Unit (1 x 360 MW).
 
   
05 January 2007 – ACTSYS has just completed a Scouting Study for Petronas Gas Berhad, Malaysia at their Central Utility Facility (CUF), Gebeng. The study validates the techno-commercial feasibility of an energy saving option in which the condensate system is re-routed.
 
   

15 December 2006 – ACTSYS has recently completed a training for engineers at PRAI Power Plant (Combined Cycle Plant) & Tanjung Bin Power Plant (Coal fired Thermal Power Plant), Malaysia on thermodynamic performance analysis of power plant equipments.

The main objective of this training is to bring clarity in the thermodynamic performance analysis for the engineers. Excel based exercise and thermodynamic simulation tool (GateCycle) are used for the training. Engineers from Maintenance, Control and Instrumentation, Performance Monitoring and training departments were participated in the training.

 
   

7 November 2006 – Liu Yu joined our team of process engineers. He just graduated with a PHd in Chemical Engineering from National University of Singapore and prior to that was working for 4 years as a production engineer in Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical Company.

 
   

1 July 2006 – Our office was relocated to 2 International Business Park, #11-06, The Strategy, Singapore 609930.
